Dear parents, carers, grandparents, and friends of Kindred

The Kindred staff and trustees would like to thank you for your fantastic support in recent months.  We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Happy 2018.

This year we expect our Fife, Glasgow and Edinburgh Hospital teams, Therapeutic Support Group and Transitions project, to operate as normal. These will continue to provide a great range of support to families of children with complex needs.

We regret that there will be changes to our Edinburgh Helpline service because we have not been able to tender for further funding.  From the new year, the Edinburgh Helpline will be open from 10am to 12.30 Monday to Friday.  Due to reduced operating hours, our Edinburgh Helpline will no longer be able to provide support with Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independence Payment (PIP), trust applications and advocacy.  We will still provide support for Additional Support for Learning over the phone, but we will not be able to attend school meetings.

From 1st April 2018, City of Edinburgh Council will award the Helpline contract to another organisation.

Kindred staff will be working hard over the coming months to source funding for a range of new projects and we hope to increase our support to parents across Scotland.  We look forward to updating you throughout 2018.
