Age 14-24? Young Peoples' Service
Welcome to Kindred’s page dedicated to you! Part of Kindred’s work is our Young People's Project.
We work with people aged 14-24 with any additional support needs. We provide a listening ear, information and also help you to get your views across, on any issue to do with your additional support needs.
This can cover a wide range of things but some examples are things like:
- Planning your future.
- Many other issues that are important to you!
The Advocacy side of our work means that we can support you to express your own views and opinions. We understand that sometimes your views, or how you feel about things in your life, may be different from your family and other people. An Advocacy Worker does not tell you how you should feel or what you should do but will aim to give you the right information and support.
We can do this by:
- Providing a listening ear for you to talk about your situation or how you feel.
- Supporting you to build confidence over time and self-advocate (this means being able to express your views by yourself).
- Helping you to fill in Benefits forms, application forms or other paper work.
- Expressing in your words, what you want to say to professionals, teachers, family or other people in your life
