Volunteering!
Volunteering is a great way to get some experience doing different types of work, and it looks good on your CV too! Even if you can only spare a couple of hours a week, there will still be something you could try.
Check out these links for some ideas of where to get started:
- Volunteer Scotland: This website has a list of volunteering opportunities you can browse through. You can search by postcode or type of job, so you can find out what is available near you. Volunteer Scotland website
- Volunteer Centre Edinburgh can help you find out about what you can do anywhere in the city. They also organise events where you can talk to organisations you are interested in. Volunteer Centre website
- Volunteer Centre Fife: If you live in Fife, this site contains lots of volunteering opportunities which are available there. Have a look and see if there is anything that suits you on the following link: click here
- Edinburgh Leisure: do you like being sporty and are looking for a volunteering opportunity? If you’re aged 14-24, Edinburgh Leisure have a project called PRO-ACTIVE, aimed at giving young people qualifications in their chosen sport. Read more here: click here
