The Child Disability Payment (Scotland) provides support for the extra costs that a disabled child might have.

It replaced the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for Children under 16 on Monday 22nd November 2021, with regard to new applications.  Those already in receipt of DLA will be transferred to this new payment automatically.

You can apply for Child Disability Payment for a disabled child under 16. The disability can be mental or physical. Social Security Scotland will pay Child Disability Payment until the child is 18.
Full information about new applications , and about what is happening for those already in receipt of DLA for children under 16 is available here.

If you have already been sent a renewal form for your child's existing DLA from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) please complete and return it to them as soon as possible.
