I am new in post at Kindred in October 2020.

I have worked for the last few years in fundraising. I worked in the statutory and third sector (NHS and City of Edinburgh Council, (CEC) – where I worked mainly with young people/adults with additional needs) for the last 15 years as well as in social enterprise. Prior to this I trained as an Occupational therapist (OT) and for many years when my children were growing up, I worked in nurseries and schools as a playleader.

Over those last 15 years, I have volunteered in a variety of organisations, from neurological, OT and community-based charities and spent 9 of these years on a couple of boards.

Doing this work has given me a real passion for fundraising which is my post at Kindred. I love that what we do makes a massive difference to the life of families. I have been blown away by my colleagues and the work they do, and I am in awe of the passion and knowledge base of everyone and the care they have for the families. I am looking forward to what I think will be the most rewarding work I could hope to do.

My fundraising post will bring lots of opportunities for a variety work and I look forward to the challenges ahead. From research, applications, working on a new website and database, to generally assisting where needed, I am excited to be getting started with this wonderful team.

At home, I live with my husband. My children are grown up now and have left home.
