Information and Advocacy Manager, Fife Office

More from Lindsay:

I have worked with Kindred since 2010 and I am based in Dunfermline as part of the Fife team.

Before joining the Kindred team, I worked in Early Years supporting children with complex additional support needs and then as a nursery nurse within ante-natal, neonatal and children’s ward settings. I finally then joined the Kindred team after seeing their information whilst my son was an in-patient at the Sick Kids.

I have one grown up son, Ryan was born 12 weeks prematurely in 1999 and was thereafter diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Throughout the years with Ryan, I navigated my way through many obstacles all of which was a steep learning curve for me. I love spending time at home and outdoors in nature with my partner, family and our wee dog.

Kindred is a fantastic place to work, and I feel privileged to be part of such an understanding and caring team. I enjoy all aspects of my role; my particular interest is around supporting families on the front line to ensure that they can negotiate all services and to ensure that their voice is heard. As a parent myself I feel that I have that lived experience that gives me a deeper understanding of how families are feeling.
