If you’ve read our article on The Edinburgh Sketcher, Mark Kirkham, you’ll know that sketching was one of the ways that helped him cope with the stress and worry that having a chronically ill child in hospital brought. 

Mark was inspired by the beautiful blossoms on his walks up from his office to the then Sick Kids Hospital, where his son was being treated. As for many parents seeking a moment away from the wards, the cherry-blossom filled Meadows offered him a special place to gather his thoughts.
