Start Fundraising for Kindred

Whatever you choose to do to raise money for Kindred we’re sure you will find an event that will fulfil your thirst for adventure and action. If you are more creative ( e.g. Adventfest arts festival -see below) or a social butterfly, you will find lots of ideas to get you raising funds here

Challenges

If it's challenge event you are looking for, we have a number of Charity places for the following events

Edinburgh marathon

Kiltwalk

OR you can come up with your own ideas! To help get you started, we created 30 Kindred fundraising ideas

Planning an event

Whatever it is that you are planning to do, there are a few practical things that you’ll need to think about – like first aid and health and safety.

And, if you are after some fundraising materials – like buckets, banners and posters – then we can help with that too.

Don’t worry though, you can download our guide to running events and our sponsorship form can help you keep track of all your donations.

Some Recent Fundraising Successes

St James the Less Church, Leith - Aventfest

St James the Less Church Leith chose Kindred Advocacy to be their charity of the year for their Adventfest this year. Using the now infamous Zoom for a number of fundraising events. They held a really fun clothes/skills swap where they raised an amazing amount of over £1050.

Adventfest itself held a number events including a Christmas cake bake along, a ceilidh, cabaret, concerts and other activities. In total Aventfest raised an amazing £1950!

Creative Colonies - Jenny Harris

Our long time supporter, Jenny Harris has been raising money for Kindred through her annual Creative Colonies fundraiser. Jenny made beautiful handmade pottery as well as a variety of jams. She raised an amazing £578!

Can collection

We are hoping regular collections can resume later in 2021.

All it takes is a couple of hours and it can make a real difference. Just email [email protected] and we will let you know about any events are coming up.

Before lockdown;

  • Suzanne, Rowan and John’s collection at An Evening with Ian Rankin at The Royal Lyceum raised £281

  • Our history

    Our history

Kindred began supporting families in 1991 from the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh. We were known then as SNIP or Special Needs Information Point. We started with a founding team of two parents who each had a child with additional needs, keen to share their knowledge. Now we have a team of 12 staff over three bases in Scotland, and we are still a parent-led organisation.
